"CDS: The Community Development Service" in our school plays a very significant role in working towards exercising a sense of responsibility in the students in taking initiatives to help the under privileged and economically backward sections of the society.
Integrations with Sacred Heart Tamil school
Concepts of sharing, giving, exchanging, empathy, and togetherness are some important human values and attitudes of communications which needs to be developed early in life. The school has a significant role to play in propagating these values in the continuous learning process in the life of the student. With this in mind, the integration programme was started. Students of std X1 and X11 taught English to the students of Sacred Heart Tamil school, during their CDS classes every week. To celebrate the joy of giving week, Oct 3rd -Oct 8th, they organised a drawing competition on the topic ‘ poverty and over population' and distributed prizes to the winners .At the end of the term they had a get-together with them and distributed gifts and celebrated together.
Exposure visit As a part of CDS activities, the school organised an exposure visit for the students of std X1 and X11.To imbibe the value of giving and sharing the students were given an opportunity to visit various institutions that cater to the socially under privileged accompanied by teachers. The students interacted with the children and spent time with them. They contributed generously in cash and kind. The organisations visited were Spastic Society of India ,Little Lamb school and Indian development foundation.
