RSP

The main objective of the Road Safety Patrol (RSP) is to inculcate in the students, the importance of following road safety rules, discipline and to teach them to regulate traffic in the school campus.

Enrolment of cadets into RSP from Std. VI will be done in the month of July. Every year around 20 cadets join this programme, and at present we have 40 cadets. Mrs. Yvonne attended the training programme conducted by TPTWO.

The cadets are divided into five groups of 8. Each group is given a particular day of the week to regulate the traffic in the car park.

Every Friday after school, RSP classes are conducted with the help of a warden from Tamilnadu Police Traffic Wardens Organisation and Mrs.Revathi (co-ordinator), 10 other teachers take turns to supervise the children, between 2.15pm and 3.15pm. The cadets learn signals, signs, formation of squad for marching during the classes.

Every year our cadets participate in different RSP competitions conducted by TPTWO and various other schools and win prizes. They also take part in various awareness programmes conducted by the Traffic Police Department.

'Best outgoing RSP cadet' certificate is given every year by our Principal – Sr. Prabha to the cadet who had served in this honorable group selflessly according to our Motto, "WE LIVE TO SERVE".
